TMC leader survives 4-round gun attack near home in Rajarhat, political feud escalates
The V3 (Venkatesh Iyer, Vaibhav Arora, and Varun Chakaravarthy) of Kolkata Knight Riders gave exemplary performances as the defending champions beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs in the IPL 2025 match on Thursday. Sent into bat, Venkatesh Iyer (60 off 29) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50 off 32) did the bulk of the scoring, while Ajinkya Rahane (38) and Rinku Singh (32) also made useful contributions as KKR posted 200 for six.
In reply, SRH folded for just 120 in 16.4 overs with Heinrich Klaasen top-scoring with a 21-ball 33. Vaibhav Arora (3/29) rocked the top order, while Varun Chakaravarthy (3/22) mopped up the tail. SRH smashed a mammoth 286 in their opening fixture but since then their batting has misfired, particularly in the last couple of games where their ultra-aggressive approach hasn't worked on pitches with something in it for the bowlers.
Kamindu Mendis on debut and Heinrich Klaasen played some good shots but were dismissed before they could pose any significant challenge. This is the third loss in a row now for Sunrisers and second consecutive game where their batting has collapsed.
